This course is designed for students of all skill levels in 5th - 8th grade. Students will learn the fundamentals of art, including basic theory and draftsmanship, while building strong technical skills. Most importantly, the course encourages students to develop their own creative voice, learning how to generate original ideas and discover a personal style that reflects their personality and strengths. Throughout the program, students are introduced to a variety of artistic methods and media, and are given opportunities to participate in local and national art competitions to further support their artistic growth.

This class is open to all skill levels for 2nd - 4th grade students who are interested in learning the fundamentals of art. Students will explore a variety of materials while developing their creativity and learning how to bring their ideas to life. Students are given opportunities to participate in local and national art competitions to further support their artistic growth. Each 1.5 hour class provides a thoughtfully planned curriculum designed to keep kids inspired and excited to continue their creative journey.

3:30 pm – 5:30 pm Perspective 101 and Make Your Own Sketchbook [Nathan Cooke]

This beginner-friendly course introduces the fundamental principles of perspective using graphite pencil. Students will develop skills in direct observational drawing, learning to capture real objects with accurate proportions and full tonal value all within 20 minutes. The course also encourages the habit of daily sketching in a personal sketchbook to build confidence and consistency.
